SURVIVAL was an unplanned concept as Taylor was in Thessaloniki, Greece in Nov 2016. As he began to walk the streets of Thessaloniki he noticed that on every corner was a street animal, alone or with a family. Surprisingly, something was speaking to him about these animals and how he saw the locals take such good care of them, bringing them blankets, water, and pillows to sleep on. At that time with the current world events, Taylor's personal life, and seeing how good these animals were treated, the concept SURVIVAL came into existence. SURVIVAL is a personal journey through Taylor's life as well as a response to what was happening around the world at that time. It questions the reader to think beyond themselves and to focus on your neighbor. The generosity and actions of the locals towards these animals were so bright and kind, and what if we acted the same towards one another more? SURVIVAL is also a reflection of Taylor's personal journey from 2016-2017 as he experienced hardships and tried to push through the difficulties to reach a place of peace and normality.

Here's an excerpt from Survival :

"What does it mean to survive, and what are we surviving from? With all people, in all different walks of life, we are survivors. Some are survivors from wars past and present, others from devastation, hardships, miseries, and misfortune; either physical, emotional, or mental. We all can identify with one of those words. We each have a story to share of how we’ve survived and made it out alive. "
